The Hungarian healthcare is in crisis; 6,500 employees left

A weakened healthcare system is the only thing between us and the second wave of the coronavirus, as, since May last year, the number of healthcare workers in Hungary has decreased from 122.4 thousand to 115.9 thousand. This means that about 6.5 thousand workers have left the industry; a shocking change in the direst of situations.

Hungary 19th in National Bank’s EU Competitiveness Ranking

Hungary has placed 19th in the National Bank of Hungary’s ranking of European Union countries by their level of competitiveness, Gergely Baksay, the central bank’s director, told a press conference on Tuesday, presenting the NBH’s latest competitiveness report.
 

Coronavirus – Gov’t: State of Emergency Set to End Wednesday Midnight

Gergely Gulyás, the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, has called for the legislation on ending the state of emergency introduced in March in response to the novel coronavirus epidemic passed by parliament to be proclaimed as a law soon as possible so that the state of emergency could be lifted as early as midnight on Wednesday.
